Oropharyngeal ddx includes neuromuscular (CVA, dementia, ALS, myelopathy), mass (malignancy, Zenker, web), and other (infection, xerostomia, medications, radiation). Esophageal ddx includes dysmotility (achalasia, DES, scleroderma, Chagas, neuromuscular disease), internal obstruction (malignancy, stricture, web, rings) and external compression.
